sunshowers

dress-asos, bag-miu miu, wedgies- top shop, sunglasses-YSL
hi! hope you all had a beautiful weekend. i'm sometimes in the mood of keeping an outfit as simple and basic as possible {could also be due to laziness}. love this nude chiffon dress {if i were white i'd probably look naked} paired with some EXTRA high wedges and my newest miu miu bag. how do you guys dress when you just want to keep it simple?

some pleats, a little animal and a green blazer

blazer- zara, tank top- h&m

hi guys. i know i've been so terrible with posting. i've just had so much going on. this is what i wore on the final day i was in paris when we visited the tuileries and ate lots and lots of bread { my favorite thing}. it made me so sad to leave a place that gives me so much inspiration and is so full of joie de vivre.
this tanktop makes me feel like paying someone to stand beside me with a fan just to get that billowing effect. i liked keeping the colors simple but mixing it up a bit with different textures and prints. i have a huge blazer/vest addiction and when i saw the color of this i almost died! the cut, the color and the silky feel of this makes it so unique and feminine. we ran around the city until i found it in my size. {we actually only went to one other store...and it was right next door. but drama is much more exciting!} hope you liked the outfit! i'll be back soon with the things i loved the most about paris. thanks so much for all your lovely comments!!

spotted

you all know by now that i love a good monochromatic look...and this is about as black and white as it gets. it may actually seem silly for some, but getting dressed in the morning is so much fun for me, and outfits like this just make my day.

the outfit: explaining why i put certain pieces together is pretty tough because i usually resort to...."it looked good in my head, so i wore it". for me, personal style is about being true to who you are not not being afraid to take a few risks..or a lot. i find that dressing for myself always makes me happier and more confident when i leave the house...even it means im the only one in the street wearing a tutu, sequins or polka-dotted shorts.

golden

as much as we all love the look of heels, a girl's got to have some staple flats! this was a very casual day for me, but those can also be the best times { especially when you have blinding shoes on. } i must admit, i find my wardrobe getting more and more neon as the weather gets warmer. i had also been searching for a leopard print bag for AGES and finally found the perfect one in france. plus a robot ballerina necklace. what's not to love. swoon.

how about you guys? do you live in heels no matter how much they make your feet hurt? or do you reach for flats when you just want to prance and dance around in meadows and lakes?

orangina!

sequined vest-edward youngan, blouse-milly,orange skirt-zara, blazer-BCBG, fringe bag- meli melo, flats-repetto, watch-swatch, bracelet-vintage from egypt, sunglasses, rayban
happy monday to you all!
hope each of you had a wonderful pollen filled weekend. we were volunteered to help some friends move from one part of paris to another: up 6 flights of stairs....with no elevator....so obviously i wore this! { i actually did help...though i told everyone i could fly and they were a bit disappointed when i didn't pull through }

this actual weekend that just passed i was in NYC { my second home } to help my sister pick her wedding dress. it was a very emotional moment for me, to realize she is actually getting married and wont have time to devote all her energy to me (jk...im obviously the youngest child). she looked absolutely STUNNING in her dress...it was a bit out of control.

the outfit: i was fortunate to find this edward youngan sequin vest a few years ago in NYC that i could not pass up because hello: sequins + vest = the holy grail of clothing for me. as i've said before im a huge fan of black and white with a bold splash of color so i paired it with a simple silk top and a skirt so bright i felt like planets were orbiting around me. and here you see another one of my swatches. i've wanted a white watch for some time and when i saw the illustration by Enki Bilal { a french comic artist } it was a wrap. i love the fringe bag as well. i can never stop playing with it.

an { almost } romantic day

hi everyone! thanks mucho for your lovely comments on my sketch below. like i said i'll be posting art more frequently {until you get bored of it}
this day was a catastrophe of sorts, but a very funny one. it started out perfectly: the sun shining brightly, a nice breakfast, paris...what could possibly go wrong. well, decided to visit a beautiful garden near the bastille. it really was beautiful...the only problem is that i have SEVERE ALLERGIES and every tree and their mother was pollinating and there were bugs everywhere { seriously...it was like God released the plague of locusts all over again }. i spent the rest of the day barely able to see and sniffling. let's just say it ended with us buying a kumquat tree {ask me if i know what a kumquat even tastes like}

the outfit: to be honest, i felt a bit like doing some pliés in this because the fabrics were so delicate and girly i felt like a ballerina. i like mixing prints and fabrics {though this wasn't too much of a stretch} this skirt is one of my favorite new pieces {kind of obsessed} just because it's so beautifully made and fun to touch. the shirt is now one of my go-tos because it's so versatile. i can wear it with anything! also...im a HUGE fan of swatch watches...im wearing 2 in these pictures, but ill show the other one later. i have some "serious" watches, but as an artist i love most things fun and creative. i can never leave the swatch store without buying at least one thing.

my idea of relaxing

we hopped on the TGV from paris to provence and after a whirl-wind birthday party with over 30 bottles of champagne, too much dancing and singing, meeting some of arnaud's childhood friends for the first time, singing lady gaga all night, did i mention too much champagne? walking over pebbles in 5 inch heels (i eventually gave up and went bare-foot because honestly.....pebbles? thats def dos muchos for this girl) and staying out until 5am. i slept until 2pm and decided to nurse my wounded spirit with a day exploring avignon. ALSO i entered a t-shirt design contest for H&M HERE. you literally just have to give it a rating and its done { 2 secs at the most i promise }...if you like it obviously. thanks!!

the get up: with my brain temporarily on vacation i grabbed the easiest thing i packed...a jumpsuit from h&m covered in birds. and thank the lord because it was a million degrees outside. i really love pieces like this because they are comfortable, easy to wear and dont require that many accessories to make you stand out. what statement pieces do you guys love?

simple things

blazer/vest-UO, top-marc by marc jacobs, skirt-american apparel, bag-max mara, shoes- ASOS

what an amazing day! it was super sunny {though the wind almost blew me away} we took a mid-day trip to the kennedy center... and i wore my new shoes from ASOS! { which i adore } i can't wait until it's fully warm outside and i can break out the dresses. i have a huge weakness for vests and blazers in general { seriously...i think i have over 25 vests } and this blue one is for sure one of my favorites. the cut is so perfect...it makes me look a bit like a stewardess...but hopefully a very stylish one....
what are the MUST haves in your closet?

my immune system into shape!

slash- how i die for the entire outfit in the first photograph...

margaritas and moonwalker

white tunic-james perse, skirt-american apparel, blouse-vintage, flat-repetto, sunnies-DKN to the Y baby

these pictures were definitely taken before i thought it was a good idea to meet up with a friend for one "harmless margarita" on a sunny sunday afternoon....a day that started out innocent enough, but quickly evolved into me having half a glass too much, and ended up with me making the boyfriend watch michael jackson's moonwalker { best decision of my life...must admit it made me dream in sequins and shooting stars }

for the outfit itself. i find that i have a lot of really crazy, hard to wear items in my closet so i also have solid basic black and white pieces i can always pair them with. this red blouse is one of my absolute favs that came to me magically on the back of a golden unicorn { or in a vintage store in NYC...either way } i jumped at the chance to wear it again.

it was super sunny outside so apologies for the lack of smiling in these...the sun was in my eyes most of the time!

i kinda need these in my life..

colors are in this season! and thank sweet baby jesus for that. nothing like bright dramatic accents of colors (and sequins....one can never go wrong with sequins.)
lots of designers are doing colors really well this season { namely marc jacobs, Thakoon and DVF } but my favorite thus far is Céline's leather clutch and classic box bag.

{ i definitely have my eye on that neon yellow box bag.....it shall be in my closet this spring }

what do you guys think? are we embracing the colors this spring? or are we clutching to neutral colors like a crack head to his pipe?
